As I’m writing this, Mother Nature is unleashing one helluva thunderstorm in Fulton County New York, and I’m witnessing the remnants of the t-storms and tornadoes which ravaged the Midwest. While I’m glad for this cool weather respite from today’s nearly 90 degree temperatures, I am obviously saddened by the destruction in Moore, Oklahoma. I was born in Kansas and am aware fully of the intense storm systems and tornadoes which wreak havoc on that part of the country. If you pray, throw in some extra requests for the big guy for our fellow Americans affected by the tornado.

(I sorta feel like Debbie Downer. Let’s get into something a bit lighter and happier, shall we?)

Molly Gene One Whoaman Band!

I am exceedingly happy to announce Molly Gene One Whoaman Band is coming to Limbo Bar & Grill for her first appearance at my bar on Tuesday, July 23! I saw her in Albany in 2012, and I spent the entire time she was on stage with my mouth on the floor as I was utterly blown away by her singing, her musicianship, just everything about her performance.

This is reason #62 why I love my bar: I am able to bring in the very best touring musicians, and I am honored Molly Gene has agree to perform at my bar. If I ever lose this feeling of being a fan, I am going to shutdown this place and go flip burgers for a living.

I am forever grateful to the amazing Stevie Tombstone for connecting me with Fritz to book this show. I am a big-time fan and “excited” doesn’t begin to describe how I feel about this pending show!

From the band’s website:

WHISKEYDICKis Fritz and Reverend Johnson, a two piece acoustic metal-neck country machine from Fort Worth, Texas. We tour the U.S. singing about drinking, smoking, raising hell, getting kicked out of bars and thrown into jail. Harder Beat says “Fritz plays rhythm guitar, but his specialty is seducing your eardrums with his booming from-the-belly-low vocals. During solos, Reverend Johnson, lead guitar, does things with an acoustic that most can’t do with an electric.” Producer/musician, Eric Knudson describes our style as: “redneck, porch sittin’, rebel guitar pickin’ music.”

Fritz and Reverend Johnson formed WHISKEYDICK after previously being in metal bands. We decided to get back to our country roots and since have played thousands of shows locally and completed many nation wide tours. In the seven years WHISKEYDICK has been together we have released four albums, Rebel Flags and Whiskey, First Class White Trash, Drunk as Hell, and The Wicked Roots.

They’re coming for us, Fulton County, New York, and I do so hope you’re prepared.
